The implants can be inserted during a simple procedure performed in about an hour. During the procedure, Dr. Graivier will insert the implant into a small tunnel created in either the upper or lower lip through incisions in the corners of the mouth. After inserting the implants, the incisions will be closed, and you will start the recovery process.
Recovery after this procedure generally takes about a week. After about 10 days, your sutures will be removed. Sutures placed inside the mouth will dissolve within 10 days as well. Your lips may be stiff or numb until the healing process is complete. However, once you have healed from the procedure, you will never again need another injection or surgery to restore your lips to their full, pouty appearance.
